Have you heard the expression, “TikTok made me buy it!”? My fellow health and beauty nuts have shared tales of products they have bought after spying them on social media – often with mixed results. So you don’t waste your money, I tested a whole bunch of popular health and beauty products and shared my winners below.

Florence by mills Shadow Sticks ($14)
Are you a member of ‘The Flo Squad?’ Once you try this makeup brand by Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown, you will be. These long-wearing shadow sticks, which have over 800 thousand views in this TikTok, are a good place to start! I also enjoyed trying the Cheeky Pop Multi-Use Blush Sticks and Oh Whale Tinted Lip Balms, which are easy to apply and come in flattering colors.
Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder Flushed ($25)
I’ve been enjoying these creamy blushes for months, so their popularity on social (144 thousand likes for this one video) wasn’t a shock. They can be used on cheeks & lips, are available in a wide range of buildable, wearable shades, and offer a perfecting blur effect.
Mediheal Toner Pads ($18 and up)
These skincare pads come in a variety of formulations to tone, treat, and soothe the skin. Formulas include Madecassoside for blemishes and Vitamide for brightening. You can use them like a toner or because they are like mini sheet masks, you can multi-mask with them by laying different pads on different areas of the skin. They smell lovely and the packaging is very cool. It’s no wonder this video has 5 million views!
Wakse Matcha Hard Wax Beads ($20.99 and up)
These hard wax beads with Japanese green tea make home waxing a breeze. My daughter and I had a blast testing them – they melt in the microwave and remove unwanted hair quickly and easily with minimal irritation. This popular video has an ASMR vibe that is so satisfying to watch!
Wilding The Empress Stone ($69)
This gua sha is growing in popularity thanks to a feature on TikTokker Patricia San Pedro’s page. The best-selling patented massage tool contains over 40 trace minerals and emits negative ions known to have antioxidant and anti-aging effects. I am an avid facial massager and really enjoy using this one. It has a lovely weight and coolness, and it has a unique serrated edge that feels fantastic on the skin.
Olaplex No. 3 Hair Perfector ($30)
Influencers abound are seeing amazing, long-term results from this pre-shampoo treatment, which can be left on for 10 minutes or longer. Olaplex No. 3 has more than 2.3 billion views on TikTok and #olaplexno3 has 91 million views! It smells great and leaves hair manageable and silky.
Bubble Skincare Slam Dunk Hydrating Moisturizer ($16)
This everyday moisturizer – which has become my teen daughter’s favorite – is ideal for people with normal-to-oily skin, acne-prone skin, or those who like a lightweight, fast-absorbing face cream. The product contains natural ingredients, like aloe leaf juice and hoya lacosuna flower extract, and comes in a handy pump that, when pressed, ejects the cream in a cute, flower shape. After going viral on TikTok, one Slam Dunk is sold every 15 seconds!
Pure Daily Care NanoSteamer ($39.95)
With 1.6M views on TikTok, this viral tool is worth a look! It produces nano-ionic steam, which is up to 10 times more effective in penetrating skin, according to the brand. It has a large capacity tank, which allows for 30 minutes of working time. You can use it to steam your face before and during facial masking and it has a towel warmer, which allows you to have a hot towel to remove your face mask. It also includes an auto shutoff sensor.
Cococare’s All-Natural Grapeseed Oil ($13.99 for 2)
This all-natural oil provides moisturizing ceramides and antioxidant protection for the face, body, and hair. I’m hoping to experience some hair growth like @chaosincrocs demo’d in her viral video, but in the meantime, this lightweight, unscented oil moisturizes my scalp, makes my hair shiny, and my skin soft.
