Victoria’s Secret was where I purchased my first undergarments as an adult, so I have a soft spot for it. I love the pull-out drawers filled with pretty underthings, the helpful staff, and the sales…of course! Their big Semi-Annual Sale is almost here, offering plenty of ways to save.
Here are my favorite Victoria’s Secret hacks for the Semi-Annual Sale and beyond.
Stay in touch
If you stay in touch with Victoria’s Secret, you’ll have access to special offers, a $10 birthday coupon and you’ll be the first to know about in-store and online events and sales. You can do this by signing up for offers via snail mail, joining their email list, or following them on social media.
Pro tip: Give your email address to the cashier every time you shop, even if you’ve already signed up before. You might receive more coupons and freebies that way!
Use technology
Check your favorite savings tools for coupon codes. Rakuten and Honey are two of my favorites. You can search for coupons and cashback offers on these sites or the app, or install their browser extensions, which set you up to be automatically alerted to available savings as you browse online.
Hit the road
Did you know that Victoria’s Secret has outlet shops? Next time you visit an outlet mall, see if there is a Victoria’s Secret outlet branch there. The discounts will be deepest on styles from previous seasons and overstocks. Note that some outlet stores carry exclusive outlet-specific merchandise that is sometimes not of the same quality, so shop carefully.
The loyalty program
In general, joining a retailer’s free loyalty program is always a good idea. And if you don’t want a lot of emails or texts, you can usually adjust the settings to a cadence that works for you.
When you join their free loyalty program, you’ll receive exclusive offers and access to new items and events, birthday rewards, and free shipping offers. You can earn extra points for sharing your address, your birthday, and/or posting a review.
And if you’re a big spender at Victoria’s Secret, you’ll be upgraded from “Member,” to “Silver,” which has a $300 minimum spend per year, or “Gold,” with a $750 minimum spend per year.
The Victoria’s Secret credit cards
If you’re a frequent shopper, Victoria’s Secret has it’s own card. There is a “closed-loop” card, which you can only use the card at Victoria’s Secret. They also have an “open loop” Master Card card that can be used anywhere MC is accepted. Both cards are available in your choice of two colors.
The cards have the same benefits at Victoria’s Secret, including points on purchases, which are determined by your spending tier at the store. Cardmembers are automatically upgraded to “Silver,” but if you spend $750 or more a year, you’ll receive the enhanced benefits of “Gold” membership.
The cards offer rewards on purchases – extra rewards on bras – and with the Master Card, you can earn points on all other purchases as well.
Note: These cards have a high APR, so you should not use them unless you can pay off your balance in full each month.
Use coupons
There are several types of Victoria’s Secret coupons, including free gifts with purchase, multi-quantity deals, free shipping, and discounts. You can stack coupons with earned rewards to get the most bang for your buck. Online, you can stack two coupons, but in-store, you can often stack up to five.
Shop the sales
Victoria’s Secret is known for their Semi-Annual Sale, which typically takes place online in December and June and in-store one month later. Make sure you’re on the mailing list and/or email list so you’re in the loop on the exact dates! The discounts are usually very deep, i.e. up to 70 percent off bras, sleepwear, and beauty products.
The summer sale in June tends to include spring/summer apparel and swimwear, while the winter sale in late December/early January includes holiday gift sets, cozy loungewear, and winter-themed fragrances.
Price matching
If you notice that an item you purchased at full-price, Victoria’s Secret offers a 14-day price adjustment from your original date of purchase. You can present your original receipt in-store, or connect with customer service onlin to request a refund.
