Technology continues to advance by leaps and bounds. In this Back to School shopping season, I share some of the coolest apps and high tech devices for you and your kids with anchor Sukanya Krishnan.

Our Pact

Now that school’s back in session, you’ll need to monitor screen time very closely. OurPact, a great free app, will allow you to manage and even block access to websites and apps on your kids’ mobile devices, either on-demand or through automated, recurring schedules. It’s especially great for bedtimes (so there’s no sneaking under the covers!).

Osmo Coding Kit $75 at PlayOsmo

A great excuse to give your kids some screen time, this kit for iPad has three different educational games in one. They’ll practice programming, drawing and physics, but won’t have any idea that they are learning! As kids progress, the games become more challenging, keeping kids engaged. Ages 5-12

Boxed.com

Save yourself time, money and Back to School stress by ordering from this online version of a wholesale club. You can order the kids’ snacks, school supplies, and cleaning and paper products, all from your favorite brands. I like to order from the app on my smartphone. My goodies arrive within 2 days with no membership fees or shipping fees!

Philips Sonicare for Kids $39.95 at Walmart

Parents know how important good brushing is and how hard it is to get our kids to do it! Using 500 strokes per second, this rechargeable brush – which is customizable with stickers – is 75% more effective than manual brushing, ensuring healthy teeth and happy dental visits. It connects via Bluetooth to a fun, interactive app where kids can adopt their own “sparkly” and care for it’s teeth. Kids will love this limited edition partnership with the Ice Age movie, too! Ages 3 and up

Flipp

For purchasing these items or anything on your Back to School list, use a coupons app like Flipp. This will be your best friend for back-to-school shopping! It’s delivers location-appropriate circulars to your smart device, you can search by retailer or category (like backpacks, notebooks, etc.) and it even saves your rewards cards right in the app! My favorite feature for Back to School is the shopping list, which you can check off as you go!
