posted in: Shopping Tips

We should be celebrating women all year long, but it’s Women’s History Month – a perfect time to shine a spotlight on some incredible women. Here are some amazing goods designed by women that also feature the likenesses of female luminaries, both past and present.

Tees and sweatshirts from Piccolina ($28-$56)

Piccolina is a new mission-driven lifestyle brand that aims to inspire today’s girls to become tomorrow’s history-makers. The tees and sweatshirts are beautifully-designed and feature images from women like Mae Jemison, Jane Goodall, Rosa Parks, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. And good news – they have grownup sizes, too!

Moxie Chic Icon & Me tees and onesies ($19.95 and up) and Rosie the Riveter Mug ($18 and up)

This New-York-based, woman-owned small business is a collection of feminist apparel and accessories with unique designs aimed at empowering and celebrating women and girls of all ages with a bolt of positive energy! Moxie Chic is passionate about having every girl embrace her moxie, be her best self, and change the world.

The Mighty Women Notepad Collection from the Susan B. Anthony Museum ($10 each)

Each of these notepads from this Rochester, NY museum features a famous woman and a powerful quote. Women include Susan B. Anthony, Harriet Tubman, Shirley Chisholm, and Ruth Bader Ginsberg. The woman-designed notepads are created by The Card Bureau, a DC-based design company that strives to elevate female figures through their products.

Kristy Rice Pillars Collection Kamala Harris “There’s Glass Everywhere” onesies, mugs, bibs, tees, and more ($18 and up)

The Pillars Collection began as a way to celebrate Rice’s daughter’s first birthday and let her daughter know that she could grow up to be anything she wanted. On election night, she created a Kamala sketch and posted it on Facebook. Friends went wild over the image and started requesting T-shirts, mugs, etc. The rest is history!

Occasionette Malala, Michelle Obama and Ruth Bader Ginsberg Paint-By-Numbers Kits ($36)

These fun paint-by-numbers kits are designed by illustrator Rachel Austen. They come with a pre-printed background in full color so the paint really pops in the foreground. Kits include unmounted canvas, non-toxic acrylic paints made in the USA, 2 paintbrushes, and instructions. For ages 13+.
