If you have school-aged kids, you might be in the process of planning a family trip for their upcoming Spring Break. Since travel is incredibly unpredictable – especially these days – I wanted to share gear that will make your trip as seamless and as comfortable as possible. From the best portable beauty and wellness devices to a power bank that will keep your tech charged on the go, I found 15 items that I will be taking on my family’s Spring Break adventures.
BEAUTY, GROOMING & WELLNESS
Foreo LUNA 4 GO ($129.99)
Travel can leave skin feeling dry and looking dull. This tiny silicone facial scrubber provides a deep cleanse and massage without taking up much space in your travel kit. The LUNA 4 Go has 8 intensity settings, a travel lock, and it will work for up to 300 times on one charge. The device helps to improve the absorption of your skincare products and it’s clinically proven to remove 99 percent of dirt, oil, and makeup residue. Your road-weary skin will thank you!
Canopy Portable Humidifier ($100)
Traveling is dehydrating and if your destination is dry or cold, you’ll feel extra parched. This portable humidifier and its travel pouch take up minimal space in your suitcase and the simple set up makes it a perfect travel companion. It has a rechargeable battery so you can place it anywhere, regardless of outlet availability and it has an easy-to-use aroma diffuser. There is a 24-hour runtime on one tank of water and a unique humidification that is a blend of mist and an evaporative fan. Its proprietary airflow technology allows for the water tank to fully dry out, avoiding the mold that is common with humidifiers. Available in several stylish colors. I have the lavender one and I use it on my desk when I’m not traveling.
Suntegrity Impeccable Skin SPF 30 ($55)
If you’re headed anywhere sunny, remember to protect your skin! This clean CC Cream foundation has a medium coverage, a lovely satin finish, and it nourishes the skin with peptides and vitamins C and E. It’s packaged in a TSA-approved size and available in several shades, from fair to deep, and contains an SPF of 30 from non-nano zinc oxide. If you want something for the face and body with no color, try Suntegrity’s Milky Mineral Sun Serum Spray for Face & Body SPF 50, which is a TSA-approved broad-spectrum liquid that goes on sheer and blends in quickly.
Boka Travel Kit ($13)
No need to bring along your boring old dental care products when you can take these instead! This set of stylish travel items is a treat for your teeth. The set includes Boka’s Classic Brush in one of four colors, a travel-size toothpaste in your choice of flavor, and a mint floss. The products are science and health-focused and free of free of fluoride, parabens, SLS, artificial flavoring, and endocrine disrupters.
OneSkin Travel Kit ($136)
Want to treat yourself to some hardworking skincare products on your trip? This set of TSA-approved, gender-neutral products comes in a stylish silicone travel bag that has plenty of room for your other travel must-haves. The brand’s proprietary OS-01 peptide is scientifically proven to treat skin at a molecular level and the kit contains essential products for the face and body.
Sundays Mk. 01 Manicure Kit ($76)
This 8-piece manicure set is an all-in-one kit to use at home or on the go. The set contains non-toxic TSA-sized products for the removal of traditional and gel manicures, including a file, buffer, cuticle remover, cuticle serum, nail clipper, soy nail polish remover, top coat, hydrating base coat, and even cotton balls, all packaged in a chic and simple canvas pouch.
Manta Sleep Mask ($35)
This mask is SO comfortable and the fabrics it is made from are breathable and durable. The squishy eye cups are empty in the center so they don’t press against your eyes, and they are attached by velcro so they can be moved to the perfect spot for your face. The strap is also adjustable and the closure is a unique velcro that doesn’t get tangled in your hair (a curly-haired person’s nightmare).
GEAR
TravelPro Crew Classic Compact Carry-On Expandable Spinner ($269.99)
With some airlines increasing their checked baggage fees and limiting carry-on items, it might be time to level up your luggage. I like this Spinner because it is designed to help you maximize your packing space. It has multiple pockets and removable compression packing organizer that secures and compresses the contents while keeping everything neatly organized. It’s also expandable in case you do some shopping at your location and need more packing space. The spinner wheels maneuver easily, as does the adjustable handle. The water-resistant ECOFAB interior lining is made from 100 percent post-consumer recycled plastic bottles.
To maximize your underseat space, the TravelPro Crew Classic Underseat Tote ($129.99) is another item to consider because it’s a great balance between a structured bag and a soft one, making it comfortable to carry – by handles, shoulder strap, or luggage sleeve, which is my favorite – but also roomy enough to carry snacks, a laptop, chargers, books, and a change of clothes. It’s a very good weekender bag as well.
PSUDO Sneakers ($138)
These are the ideal travel shoes! Despite looking like they have laces (the image of laces is printed on the fabric, which is where the “pseudo” comes in) they are lace-free, so they are a breeze to slip on and off during your travels. They are also eco-friendly, made with only 3 pieces, with a short and transparent supply chain, and manufactured using ethical labor. The fabric upper, which feels like a soft, yet supportive neoprene, is made of 75 percent recycled plastic bottles. The sneakers are as comfortable as slippers, have an anti-microbial insole, and offer the support of sneakers, including an anatomically correct arch support. Available in lots of eye-popping colors and patterns and in men’s and women’s sizes (if you’re between sizes, I would suggest sizing down). I’ve been wearing mine for a couple of weeks and have received lots of compliments.
Cor Surf Island Hopper Travel Bundle ($124.99)
This bundle is an ideal set for all sorts of travel. The backpack is thoughtfully designed with lots of fantastic features, including plenty of pockets, water-resistant zippers, a protective laptop sleeve, two carrying handles, a luggage sleeve, and an air tag holder. Plus, it folds out like a suitcase, so it’s great for shorter side trips. The bundle comes with two compression packing cubes, a toiletry bag, and a laundry/shoe bag. Available in several colors.
InfinaCore P3 Power Bank Charger ($59.99)
This power bank checks all the boxes for me. It’s not bulky, it plugs directly into the wall with a foldable plug for easy recharging and comes with European/Asian adaptors for charging devices at the hotel or on the go. It’s compatible with Apple and Android products and has three charging ports. A digital screen shows how much charge is left in the unit. Available in two colors.
Kahtoola NANOspikes Footwear Traction ($54.95)
If you’re going somewhere cold, you need these! They are lightweight, really easy to put on, and they work with most shoes and boots. There are 10 concave tungsten carbide spikes for each foot, ensuring a sturdy grip whether you are enjoying some apres ski time, running, or walking in icy conditions. Available in a variety of sizes.
Tiny Traveler Portable Video Baby Monitoring System with Travel Kit ($269.99)
Traveling with little ones? This 2-piece monitoring set installs in a flash and allows you to keep an eye on them in the backseat without turning around. Once you reach your destination, it can serve as a handy baby monitor. The devices come in a carrying case and the camera, which allows you to take pictures or record video, has automatic night vision and sound up to 33 ft. of range.
