3-Day weekends are always packed with deals, and this coming weekend is one of the best in terms of deal volume and discount depth. This long weekend is an excellent opportunity to take advantage of end-of-summer clearance deals, to invest in a new mattress, and maybe even replace a failing appliance.

End-of season deals

Labor Day is a fantastic time to save big on things like summer apparel and items for the patio. CouponCabin.com has some of my favorite deals because there are serious savings combined with cash back! A few huge apparel deals are:

UGG, Lululemon & Kohl’s are all up to 70% off clearance with between 3-3.5% cash back!

You can also save big on patio furniture from Wayfair and Overstock, where they are offering up to 70% off!

Mattress and bedding deals

I’m seeing sales at almost every mattress seller. For example, Bear Mattresses, Nest Bedding, and Mellanni are all offering 20% off. Click here for more deals like this.

Home goods deals

Labor Day is a great time to purchase other items for the home. Large retailers, like Home Depot, Bed, Bath & Beyond, and Lowe’s are all offering deep discounts. And eBay is celebrating their 25th anniversary this year with a huge shopping event over Labor Day Weekend, with savings across home & garden, tech and more. You can pick up a 10-Piece Granite Stone Nonstick Pots & Pans Set for over 50% off. They have the Limited Edition Bose QuietComfort 35 II Wireless Headphones for 38% off their original retail price, which are great for remote learning, and additional 25% savings on select brands, like Dyson, with code PARTYFOR25.

Items that are hard to obtain

Laptops. I’m hearing about industry-wide shortages, due to unprecedented demand. Schools are placing massive orders and parents are scrambling to set their kids up for remote learning. If the laptop that you want isn’t available now, consider buying refurbished.  Also, while appliances will be on sale, you may encounter lighter discounts and longer-than-usual shipping times due to supply chain issues.

What to avoid

I would avoid fall apparel right now. You might see what I like to call “teaser deals” to get you excited about the new styles coming in, but the discounts won’t be very deep. If you wait until later in the season, you’ll save quite a bit more.
