My 7 Favorite Minimalist Makeup Products

posted in: Beauty & Wellness

On those days when I want to look fresh and put together, but not “made up,” I find myself turning to these minimalist makeup products for a natural look:

Isdin Isdinceutics Skin Drops ($52)

Isdin Skin Drops

I’ve tried lots of products like this but these drops are my favorite. I love the flexibility of coverage, the glowy finish and how the teensiest bit goes a long way. The bottle also doesn’t make a mess, unlike the competition. I dip an Artis Palm Brush ($65) onto a drop on the back of my hand and then apply with circular motions onto my skin forall-dayy coverage.

Honest Beauty Invisible Blurring Powder ($16)

Honest Powder minimalist makeup

This powder is silky, fine and ultra sheer. It sets the Skin Drops, prevents me from getting shiny during the day (no small feat) and the blurring effect helps make my skin look smooth and even. And you can close the sifter. Why isn’t every loose powder packaged this way?

IT Cosmetics CC+ Eye Color Corrector SPF 50 ($29)

IT Cosmetics

To conceal darkness around my eyes (and for any other spots on my face that need extra color correction), this creamy concealer does the trick. The applicator is metal, which feels cool and helps chase away puffiness.

Maybelline Great Lash Clear Mascara ($4.50)

If my brows are not combed, they can look unruly even if they have been shaped recently. Of all the clear mascaras and brow gels I have tried, this one is my favorite because if offers the most hold and it never flakes. It also effectively removes any mascara clumps on my lashes.

L’Oreal Paris Infallible Eye Liner in Slate

I love using grey eyeliner on those light makeup days. It defines without looking harsh. This formula glides on smoothly – on the inner rim or along the lash line – and lasts for hours, smudge-free.

Almay One Coat Thickening Mascara ($18 for 2)

This is such a reliable, go-to formula. It’s great for sensitive eyes, it doesn’t clump, and it provides soft definition with just one coat.

Burt’s Bees 100% Natural Tinted Lip Balm ($9 for 2)

This rich, nourishing balm adds a sheer wash of color and the formulation provides much-needed moisture for my dry lips. Sometimes I’ll dab a bit on my cheeks if I need a lift (shhhh….). Available in 5 shades.
