How to Get Free Stuff for Referring Friends

posted in: Shopping Tips | 0

You know all those cool, digital services that you’re using to order takeout, try new clothes and get snacks in bulk? Chances are many of those same services will pay YOU to introduce your friends and family and will hook them up, too! I found 25 different companies that offer these referral bonuses which range from a few dollars of credit to a $250 gift card!

Where applicable, I have provided my personal referral link so you can get the free stuff or discounts that these brands are offering (and I’ll get a treat too – thanks!!). Once you order, you can share the love and get free stuff for yourself. Here’s how to get free stuff for referring friends:

Ever wondered how to get free stuff? Many companies offer referral bonuses to customers who recommend and share with friends and family! Here's what to do. #freestuff #howto #referrals #recommendations #friendsandfamily #getfreestuff #affiliateprograms #affiliates

23andMe

My daughter and I learned many interesting things about our lineage with this kit. If you’re a fan like we are, you can spread the word to family and friends by email, Twitter and more. They’ll get up to 10% off their order and you’ll receive an Amazon gift card valued at up to $20.

Airbnb

Sending a referral link to a friend gets them some credit towards their first stay. When they complete that reservation, you’ll earn up to $30 in credit that you can use towards your next stay.

Boxed.com

I love this online wholesale club because there are no membership fees, and you get wholesale-priced household essentials and foods delivered to your door with no shipping (usually).  Share your referral link to score $15 for every new customer who places an order of $60 or more and they’ll get $15 off their first order as well.

Brandless

If you love healthy snacks and budget-friendly kitchen essentials as much as I do, you will love Brandless. As the name implies, the goods they carry have no brand affiliation (aside from the Brandless brand), which helps the company keep the cost down. Most items are $3 and they carry everything from really tasty and healthy snacks, to wooden spatulas to condiments. For every new customer you refer, you receive a $6 credit towards a future order.

Brayola

This online bra and underwear shop sells dozens of brands in countless sizes and in any style you can dream of. When you introduce the site to friends, they receive $10 off their first order and you receive a $10 credit. In case you were wondering, my referral code is 2Ccbtq6

Delivery.com

From this site, you can order delivery or pick up from over 12,000 restaurants across the country. Share your referral code to a new customer and they’ll get $10 off their first order. You’ll receive a $10 credit for the referral.

Equinox

Equinox members who refer a new member will receive a $250 gift card, which can be used at the Equinox shop, spa or towards personal training sessions.

GlassesUSA

When you refer a friend to Glasses USA, you will receive a $30 site credit if they set up an account and place an order. Your credit is given once your friends’ order is delivered.

Groupon

Refer friends to this flash deal site and receive $10 in Groupon Bucks once they place their first order. They must place their order within 72 hours and your credit will appear in your Groupon account within 7 days. You must have a valid credit card on file to qualify.

Grove Collaborative

Grove Collaborative has lots of skin-healthy and environmentally-friendly things like laundry detergent, reusable kitchen cloth, and bamboo toilet paper. The products are from their proprietary brand or from brands like Seventh Generation & Mrs. Meyers. Refer a friend and receive a $10 and your friend will receive a free set of home products.

Grubhub

This site and app, which allows you to order takeout from over 100,000 restaurants in 2,000 US cities, will give you $12 for every friend you refer when they place a first-time order of $15 or more. Your friends also receive $12 off their order.

Healthworks

This women-only fitness center offers $100 in Club Cash for when you refer a friend who joins the club. Club Cash can be used for membership fees, products and services.

Hello Fresh

Refer friends to this planned meal delivery service and you will receive a $40 credit every time a friend subscribes and they will receive a $40 discount off of their first delivery. Hello Fresh also has an offer right now where first-time customers receive $80 off ($20 off four orders), so it’s a great time to check it out if you haven’t already.

Hulu

I think having the Hulu streaming service is really worthwhile. It makes up for a number of the stations I lost when I cut my cable subscription way back. When friends join with your referral code, they’ll get the first two weeks free and you’ll get a $10 Visa gift card. Also, in an unusual move, Hulu’s monthly subscription (with ads) just decreased from $7.99 to $5.99.

Lyft

When friends who are first-time customers use your referral code, they will receive up to $5 in ride credit and you will receive $10. Feel free to use my code, TRAE512245!

Naked Wines

A friend referred me to this wine retailer that specializes in small batch wine producers. I’ve been hooked ever since. When you refer a friend, they will receive a $50 credit, plus access to “Angel Pricing”, which is membership pricing. When they place their order, you’ll receive $40 to spend on wine. Your friends can receive membership pricing after their first order by paying $40 per month, which is deducted from their future orders.

What I usually do is order a case, and then wait a couple of months so I have an $80 or $120 balance in my account, which makes a huge dent in my order. The wines are tasty and reasonably-priced and I love that we always have wine on hand!

Pura Vida

When you refer a friend, this handmade jewelry site will give you $10 credit. Your friend gets a generous 50% off their order over $40.

Seamless

Seamless, which is part of the Grubhub family of brands, allows you to earn $12 for every friend you refer when they place a first-time order of $15 or more. Your friends will also receive $12 off their order.

Stitchfix

This fashion delivery service will give you a $25 credit when your friends sign up for a shipment. They’ll get a $25 credit, too.

thredUP

When your referred friends place an order, they’ll receive $10 towards that order and you’ll receive a $10 credit to use for yourself

T-Mobile

Receive a $50 pre-paid Master card for every friend who opens an account (restrictions apply). You can refer up to 100 friends per year!

Uber

When you refer friends to Uber, you’ll receive $5 off your next ride. Your friends must be new to Uber, and for signing up with your referral link they’ll receive $2 off each of their first three rides. My code is trae147ue, if you’d like the discount!

Vimbly

Vimbly offers deals on experiences, like escape rooms, museums and paddleboard rentals. For every friend you refer who makes a purchase, you’ll receive a $10 credit and so will they.

Walmart Grocery

For every friend you refer who is a new customer of Walmart’s Grocery service, you’ll receive a $10 credit. They will receive a $10 credit towards their first order.

Worthy

This site helps people sell their unwanted gemstones and precious metals – this is great if you have pieces from a former marriage or estate jewelry that is not to your taste. For every person you refer who sells an item with Worthy, you’ll receive an Amazon gift card for $75.

Zenni

I’ve fallen in love with this online prescription eyewear brand. So many stylish and budget-friendly options! Through the Refer-a-Friend program, you can share your referral code and earn $5 for each referral, while helping friends save $5 on their purchase.
