Best Deals in March 2019 (and What to Avoid!)

posted in: Monthly Deals | 2

March is here, and while the weather may be wild and unpredictable, the one thing we can rely on is that there will be good sales this month.

Despite the fact that March has none of the reliable sale markers, like a gift-giving holiday or a three-day weekend, March straddles winter and spring, which presents several interesting deal opportunities.

The experts at Slickdeals and I predict that we’ll see end-of-season clearance sales on apparel as well as “teaser” deals on new spring styles. We’ll also see beauty promotions as we transition our look from winter to spring.

And just in time for your spring break planning…travel deals!

Here are some of the best deals in March 2019 (and which “deals” to avoid!):

Winter Apparel and Spring “Teaser Deals”

Because March is smack in the middle of winter and spring, we tend to see clearance-level discounts on cold-weather apparel as well as promotions on select spring apparel items. While the winter apparel sales will be fairly broad, the spring apparel deals will be on specific items to give shoppers a taste of spring styles.

Patagonia: Get up to 50% off past-season items

Macy’s: 20% off Spring Style with Code: SPRING – Offer Between 3/27 – 3/31

March Madness Deals

The March Madness basketball tournament will run from March 19th to April 8th.

College basketball enthusiasts will don their teams’ colors and host home game-watching parties, so team apparel and gear will be discounted as well as food and small appliances for entertaining.

It’s also National Frozen Food Month, so we’ll see sales on frozen goods too.

What Not to Buy in March

Victoria’s Secret holds its big annual sale in June (and other brands often follow suit), so that may be a better time to get a good deal on something slinky.

Even if we’re seeing some spring-like weather, wait until next month to invest in any new patio furniture or camping gear.
